Basic strategy is the best way to keep the house edge as low as possible. Here are the key decisions:
| Your Hand | Dealer Shows 2–6 | Dealer Shows 7–10 | Dealer Shows Ace |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 or below | Hit | Hit | Hit |
| 9 | Double Down | Hit | Hit |
| 10 or 11 | Double Down | Double Down | Hit |
| 12 to 16 | Stand | Hit | Hit |
| 17 or more | Stand | Stand | Stand |
| Pair of Aces | Split | Split | Split |
| Pair of 8s | Split | Split | Split |
Applying basic strategy brings the house edge below 0.5% at ok88 tables.
Blackjack has always been one of the most beloved casino games in Brazil, and ok88 understood that from day one. Rather than simply tossing in a couple of generic tables like many betting sites do, ok88 built a full live blackjack portfolio — with dealers who speak Brazilian Portuguese, tables for every budget, and streaming technology that runs smoothly even on mobile with a 4G connection.
For anyone new to the basics: in blackjack, the goal is straightforward. You and the dealer are each dealt cards, and whoever gets closest to 21 without going over wins the round. Number cards are worth their face value, face cards (J, Q, K) are worth 10, and the Ace can be worth either 1 or 11 depending on the situation. If you're dealt an Ace plus a 10-value card right off the bat, that's a Natural Blackjack — and at ok88 it pays 3:2, the most player-friendly standard in the game.
What makes blackjack so popular among serious Brazilian bettors is that it's one of the few casino games where player strategy actually matters. Unlike slots or roulette, where the outcome is 100% random, every decision you make in blackjack directly affects your expected return over time. A player who applies basic strategy correctly can bring the house edge down to under 0.5% — one of the lowest figures of any casino game available.
Ok88 puts serious investment into the quality of its live blackjack tables. The broadcast studios use multi-angle cameras so you can see every card dealt with complete clarity. The dealers are trained professionals who interact with players through the chat, creating a real casino atmosphere without you ever having to leave home. Everything is accessible on mobile or desktop, with a Portuguese interface and values in BRL.
Another thing that sets ok88 apart is the sheer variety of tables running simultaneously. During peak hours — Friday and Saturday nights, for example — you can find more than 20 active blackjack tables at once, each with different characteristics: some with 6-deck shoes, others with 8, varying Split and Double Down rules, tables with Surrender available, and VIP rooms with limits up to BRL 50,000.00 per hand. It's a level of sophistication that few Brazilian online casinos can match.
New players can use ok88's practice mode to learn the rules without risking real money. Once you feel comfortable with the game, simply make a minimum deposit of R$ 10.00 via Pix and jump into the low-stakes tables. No pressure, no judgment — you grow at your own pace.
Ok88 runs blackjack-specific promotions that appear regularly in the promotions section. Weekly live blackjack tournaments — where the top-performing players over a set period compete for a real-money prize — are one of the most popular formats. Here's how they work: each player starts with a set amount of virtual chips and tries to accumulate as many as possible within the allotted time. The top finishers win prizes that can reach R$ 10,000.00 in real money.
Beyond tournaments, ok88 regularly offers cashback on live blackjack losses during special periods. That means even on unlucky sessions, you get a portion of your bets back. The cashback is credited directly to your ok88 wallet and can be used freely at the tables or on Sports Betting, with no restrictions.
Players who reach VIP status at ok88 gain access to exclusive tables with even more favorable rules — including the superior 3:2 payout standard across all tables instead of 6:5, plus priority access to the highest-limit rooms. ok88's loyalty program recognizes the dedication of regular blackjack players with real, tangible benefits.
All blackjack operations at ok88 are conducted with complete transparency. Live tables are streamed in real time, with no possibility of manipulation. The card shuffling is done with real physical decks visible on camera, eliminating any doubt about the randomness of the game. For software blackjack versions, a certified RNG audited by independent third parties is used.
Ok88 also provides responsible gambling tools specifically for live casino players: you can set daily, weekly, or monthly loss limits directly in your account, schedule breaks, or request a temporary self-exclusion. Blackjack is entertainment, and ok88 wants the experience to always be positive and within each player's financial means.
